Ideas For New Year

December 30, 2006

Christmas has just passed with the blink of your eyes. When you finally came to reality, you found that you are broke [due to the shopping spree for Christmas parties, clothings and even presents]. Now it’s time for New Year. You can’t be a 24/7 Santa Claus for the whole year through. So what are you going to do??

I have some wonderful ideas and of course, using the maipulation of words. This is what i plan to do and so can you! I am planning to send SMSes, not just normal SMSes to wish everyone BUT ones with feelings and expressions. And below are some examples of SMSes that I will send to everyone.

Family Members – Dearest, another year is passing us by. We see each other so little but yet our memories are fond. Do you remember me just like how I am missing you? If there is a moment of absolute truth in me, the moment is now and dearest, I love you. Happy New Year and love you always!

Friends – Hey, the year was long but where were we? We met not many a time but my memories of you were among those I really cherish. I miss those jokes, laughters and pranks we shared but most importantly, I miss you. Happy New Year and may we meet again in the best of ourselves!

Colleagues – Hello buddy. Thanks for covering up my mistakes and praising me in front of those who asked of me this whole year through. I really appreciate it. It’s going to be a whole new year ahead but I am happy to have the old same pleasant you to be there for me. Happy New Year and you’re the best!

Others – Happy New Year. It’s going to be a great year ahead of us with many unknown, uncertain and unpredictable road ahead BUT, I wish you all the best! You know, I’ll always be here when you need an ear, a shoulder or even any pieces of me. May you have a wonderful year ahead and God bless!

Well, well, looks like many of you already have even better SMSes in mind already! Go work on them people! Let your imaginations run wild and maybe you should run wild to let your imaginations soar. Happy New Year everyone and I, David Hng personally wish you a prosperous and fantastic year ahead. Do come back and visit me here every once in a while. I love you guys!

Resolution For New Year!

December 29, 2006

RESOLUTION! What does this word actually means?
According to Oxford Online Dictionary , this word is a noun with the following meanings;

  1. a firm decision.
  2. an expression of opinion or intention agreed on by a legislative body.
  3. the quality of being resolute.
  4. the resolving of a problem or dispute.
  5. the process of reducing or separating something into components.
  6. the smallest interval measurable by a telescope or other scientific instrument.
  7. the degree of detail visible in a photographic or television image.

But English is wide and we can understand it from different perspectives. As for me, yes the word RESOLUTION brings about the above meaning PLUS a little more.

Let me explain myself.

The word RESOLUTION can also be read as RE-SOLUTION in which the word RE means renew, reactivate or restore while the word SOLUTION means answer or solve. When put together, this two words ‘RE-’ and ‘SOLUTION’ actually bring about the meaning of ‘RESOLUTION’ to a new dimension of understanding. Now, we can actually say that the word RESOLUTION means the renewing, reactivating and restoring of answers or ideas!

This New Year, you can start anew with this word that you learnt here; RESOLUTION. Instead of making new firm decisions, you can actually REACTIVATE or RENEW your old RESOLUTIONS or ANSWERS. Make this New Year a celebration of knowledge and wisdom. Start fresh and start new!

New Year Celebration!

December 29, 2006

2006 is almost over and 2007 is just few hours ahead. The eastern countries will start the New Year ahead of the western countries. 2006 changing to 2007 is an occasion that will be felt by all regardless of race, religion and ethnic background.

Everything will be new, from resolutions to financial plannings. As for me, I’m working hard to provide my readers with a better site. I am planning to move this site, or maybe I should maintain this site and start a new site in another host server. In any manner, I still will work on this site and the two E-books that I promised earlier on.

I am planning to give the first 20 E-books free of charge and I am woking hard to complete the two E-books as soon as possible. 20 free E-books x2 meaning I will be giving away a total of 40 free E-books to 40 different lucky individuals.

I am planning to launch the E-books at my new site but don’t worry, I will be updating all my “Speak In English” readers of my progress every now and then. I will also allow a few lucky readers to sneak preview the new site soon.

A very big hug to all the readers here and thank you. Feel free to drop by and comment. 9 days and 36 readers; together we shall make it a great year ahead.

Celebrating With English

December 26, 2006

I would like to wish every visitor a very Merry Christmas. And perhaps I am not too late as Christmas is actually celebrated for a span of 12 days.

During the festive season [e.g. Christmas], I noticed that the usage of English language increased dramatically. Being an observant person myself, I made a summary of 5 different reasons of why people chose to speak in English.

  1. English is the universal language or as the 2nd language.
  2. Some people are used to speak in English or are dependant on English as they do not know any other languages.
  3. Some people use English as the medium of conversations as they are from different races and backgrounds.
  4. Some people think that speaking in English will earn themselves a higher reputation or position themselves as educated people.
  5. Some even think that speaking in English will make others attracted to them or like them better.

As for me, English has been a language which almost all the citizens of this world understand. Therefore, speaking in English is something very relevant towards yourself and your surroundings. Given a month or two, even your pets could understand English so why not you?

Speaking English will earn you a lot more than you can imagine. Just for an example or two, English can help land you to a better job, a promotion or even let you bargain for a better price when purchasing your goods.

It’s up to you now. To learn or not to learn, that’s the question!
